It's time for your second 2017 summer Candy German subscription box. While I'm writing this, it is 35 degrees in Germany. I love summer, but this is way too hot. Luckily there are some fruity and refreshing treats in this month's candy box from Germany, I can enjoy while telling you all about your June treats. Perhaps you already did received your German candy box. Then feel free to munch through your box while reading this.
Last year we put a similar product in your Candy German subscription box. You let us know that you loved it, so here are similar but different pastry sticks. The Sun Snacks Gebäckstangen by the German producer Coverna mainly consist of wheat flour, yeast, and butter. Either you got the pastry sticks with cheese = Käse or sea salt = Meersalz. Both taste wonderful and are the perfect summer snack. They have a very intense butter flavor and are so crunchy. The cheese sticks contain 8 % grated cheese and 2 % cheese powder. You can taste this, they are very cheesy and just yummy. The sea salt sticks contain 3 % sea salt. That’s not much, but enough for a phenomenal salty taste.
Haribo products are always good. I’m sure you agree. If you are a Candy German member for a longer time now, you already had the chance to taste a lot of different Haribo treats. The German candy company Haribo, which is located in Bonn, has so many different gummy sorts that we could have put a Haribo package in each box since the beginning of Candy German and never would have to repeat one sort. This month we actually put two different Haribo treats in your German candy subscription box. The first one is fruitmania Berry. I think these little berries are the fruitiest gummies I have ever tasted. You find little strawberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries in your package. Each contains 20 % fruit juice – so good! Try to taste every berry sort individually and you will notice the different flavors. I’m really impressed by this German candy. By the way, Haribo fruitmania is suitable for vegetarians, which means it does not contain animal gelatin.
All the cookie lovers out there, this German treat is for you: The Coppenrath Butter Cookies are a very simple treat, but so delicious. They look like a soft waffle, but actually are more like a crunchy biscuit. The traditional German pastry company Coppenrath is a guarantor for high quality and tasty products. Every time we put one of their treats in your monthly candy box from Germany, you let us know that you loved it. I’m sure you will love the Butter Cookies, too. They are sweet but not too sweet, with a nice buttery flavor. The huge package is resealable – awesome!
Here comes this month’s second Haribo product. About one year ago, we sent Haribo’s new Milchbären = milk bears to your door. This year Haribo put a limited edition of the Milchbären on the market, the Milchbären Tropical. They are only available for a short period of time, and you are among the lucky people to try them. There are five different fellows in your bag: Emma, Emil, Mia, Ben, Frieda – you can read the names of the gummy bears on the back of your package. They come in the flavors passion fruit, banana, mandarin, kiwi fruit, and pineapple. Gummy bears are Haribo’s hallmark, but to be honest, I have never seen such cute Haribo gummy bears as the Milchbären are. They are running, jumping, waving, etc. and they even have little faces. The back of this German candy is covered in a foamy and creamy milk mass. The fine milk flavor comes out very good and the combination with the different tropical fruit flavors is extraordinarily good. No question that this German candy had to find its way into your Candy German subscription box. Haribo, I love you!
Nutella B-ready is one of the few chocolate treats we can send during summer in your monthly candy subscription box from Germany, because the bread prevents the chocolate from melting. So here it is: Nutella B-ready! I’m sure most of you know Nutella. What Ferrero did here is to put Nutella in a bread-like pastry. Simple and good idea! Actually, the pastry does not taste like bread. It’s more like a crunchy wafer. The Nutella cream is added by some puffed rice, so that this whole treat is very crispy. If you like Nutella, you will love this treat – especially when you are out and about and do not have a jar of Nutella and a loaf of bread in your bag. There are two Nutella B-ready in your Candy German subscription box.
After all of the delicious mouth-watering snacks you need something to drink, I assume. Ahoj-Brause is a sherbet powder. Take one of the 10 (!) sachets and put the sherbet into 0.2 liters of water. The result will be a delicious, fruity, and refreshing drink. Ahoj sherbet is a very traditional German product, it’s about 90 years old. The 10 sachets in your package come in the flavors orange, lemon, raspberry, and sweet woodruff. If you don’t want to drink your treat, you can also sprinkle the sherbet on your tongue and enjoy the fruity sour tingling taste experience. The perfect summer treat!
