It’s summertime – wunderbar! That means that we include more hard candy, wine gums, biscuits and Co. in your German candy subscription box and less chocolate. We don’t want anything to melt – so after the past months of chocolate indulgence another candy-licious time starts now.
Katjes is one of the most popular German wine gum producers. All of their products are fantastic – not at least because they have a huge range of vegetarian products that are produced without gelatin. We chose one of those vegetarian products for your monthly candy subscription box, the Katjes Tappsy. The cute panda bears are a mixture of fruit gummi and licorice – either the ears consist of licorice and the faces of fruit gummi or the other way round. That’s an awesome combination, the intense licorice flavor is softened by the fruity flavor. So good!
This year the company Frigeo is celebrating the 90th birthday of their most famous brand Ahoj. The last time we put an Ahoj product in your monthly candy subscription box was last February. Many of you told us that you really liked the Brause-Brocken, so we decided to send you another Ahoj product this month. The Ahoj-Bonbons are sherbet filled drops. There are four different flavors in the bag: raspberry, orange, lemon, and sweet woodruff. The taste is a combination of sweet and sour, and the sherbet is the highlight of this German candy. The perfect summer treat!
Rolled crunchy wafers dipped in chocolate – so simple, so good! There are two sorts of this treat, the one is the dark chocolate, the other one the milk chocolate variation. Both are extraordinarily good – as often, we could not decide which one we like more, so some of you got the dark chocolate and some of you the milk chocolate wafers. Dip it in a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy!
An ice-cold coke added by a splash of lemon – I guess that is not only one of my favorite summer drinks. I always love it when those flavors are combined in a candy, so I really was delighted when we found those cola lemon flavored lollipops. There are fourteen individually wrapped lollies in the bag. As it is stated on the bag, they are caffeine free, so you can give them to your kids without concerns. I’m sure they will love the lollipops as well as the funny looking giraffe on the bag. Overall, this German candy is a fun treat for kids and adults.
Those of you who are subscribed to Candy German since the beginning, already know the Fritt chewy candy. We had it in our very first Candy German subscription box in June 2014 – the fruity variation. One year later there is a Fritt revival – this time the chocolate toffee variation. First we thought that this candy is covered in chocolate, but we were wrong. The producer Ludwig Schokolade added cocoa powder in the chewy soft Fritt stripes. They are wrapped individually and are subdivided in small chunks. The stripes have a very delicious, mouth-watering intense chocolate flavor!
Another revival is this candy from Germany. The first time we put Leibniz Pick Up bars in our German candy subscription box was June 2014, too. But – as before – another sort. The Black ’n White sort is rather new on the German market. A white chocolate layer is put in between two dark, cocoa added cookies. A great new Leibniz product which is a brand of the German company Bahlsen!
Peanut meets candy. The German candy manufacture hosta was founded in 1949. In 1955 the Mr. Tom Peanut bar was introduced to the market. Since then it is known as "der etwas andere Riegel = the slightly different bar". Mr. Tom is kind of a counter-program to chocolate bars. It’s a very simple bar – roasted peanuts are covered in caramel. It is extremely crunchy and yummy!
As always, please feel free to give us your feedback at email@example.com. We appreciate your opinion on the box a lot!
